Join me for this one-hour workshop packed with information to help parents build the knowledge they need to collaborate and share what's best for their child in IEP meetings.

Cooperation is always more powerful than competition.

Why attend?

LEARN

Learn how to ask for supports and classroom tools that would benefit your child.  This includes:

  • classroom assistive technology

  • supports for routines and processes

  • tools for self-regulation for better focus and attention

EMPOWER

Empower yourself with information that is relevant to your child's learning.  There are many possibilities to consider when we consider how to accommodate, modify or adjust learning supports.

GROW

Grow in your knowledge of how you and the school team can support your child in learning together.  When you bring your knowledge to the IEP table, it benefits the other members, but more importantly, your knowledge benefits your child!

ADVOCATE

Advocate for the learning needs of your child.  You are your child's first teacher and have many valuable insights that members of the school team possibly have not yet considered.

About me

My name is DJ Nicholson

I'm an educational mentor and coach with a life-long passion for education and ensuring that children with disabilities, specifically autism, are engaged and supported in their educational environment.  My purpose for this work began in childhood when my sibling was diagnosed with several neuro-diversities and ultimately resulted in a 28-year commitment to special education, coaching and training.  My super powers include creating unique learning options for children, problem-solving for their success, and helping parents see what’s possible for their child’s best learning.  When I'm not engaged in my career passions, I'm volunteering with a pug rescue group, mentoring young teachers, and doing yoga!
